A FEW THOUGHTS ON TODAYS READING...
It truly is an odd world that we find ourselves in. Our world is literally crumbling under the weight of its sin. Yet the moral outrage is not coming from those who lift up the name of God. The moral outrage is coming from those who are afraid there will be limitations attached to their ability to carry out their acts against a Holy God.
Notice the words in Zephaniah 1:12, “And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency, Who say in their heart, ‘The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil’.” There are many people who state that they believe in God but have nothing to do with God on a daily basis. For most, belief in God is like a nationality or a denominational affiliation which people use to define or describe themselves without actually having Him factor into their lives. For some it is apathy, for others it is being ashamed of Him, for others they really don’t believe. For many, what should be a scary quote comes from Revelation 21:8, “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolators, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Most get the murderers, etc., but the cowardly is among this group. The father of the son possessed with the evil spirit, said it right in Mark 9:24, “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”” Concerning those who continue to shout out their attacks against our Holy God, we read in Zephaniah 3:5, “The Lord is righteous in her midst,..., But the unjust shows no shame.” God described the judgment which will fall upon those evil nations and people, and explains why in 2:10, “This they shall have for their pride, Because they have reproached and made arrogant threats Against the people of the Lord of hosts.”
There seems to be no boundaries to the decadence that our nation is descending into. The outrage primarily seems to come from them whenever any limitations are placed. Their desire is no limitations on abortion, no limitations to any form of sexual practice. They want total control over our schools, the media, the government, etc. They, in their loudness have decided what is and what is not “politically correct” and “socially acceptable” for polite and proper conversations. No shock that any mention of God or His perfect positions on these issues are deemed hateful. We must not react in anger, but pray for these individuals who though they feel are on the moral high ground are all walking along that wide path towards hell. We must pray and reach them. Our slumber must stop. Complacency is not an option, and cowardice is unacceptable. We read in Zephaniah 2:3, “Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.” It is time for those of us who claim to stand for God to reveal ourselves to the unsaved world rather than blend in due to our innate desire to be liked and accepted. Being ashamed of what we stand for can no longer be an option. Let us all pause and consider what Jesus said in Luke 9:26, “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”
THIS WEEKS MEMORY VERSE
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. ~Revelation 21:4

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
There is such a place as hell. Let no one deceive you with vain words. What people do not like, they try hard not to believe.
