WHAT IS A PRAYER LANGUAGE FOR?

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

-Rom 8:26-28

"For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries."

- 1 Cor 4:2

MISCONCEPTION #1

IF YOU DON'T PRAY IN TONGUES (IN THE SPIRIT) YOU AREN'T A TRUE CHRISTIAN

NOT TRUE

And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." - Mark 16:15-18

This scripture is true and it is literal, for those that believe, this power is available (John 14:12-14). However, it can be squelched! You can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and not see the manifestation of power through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will not take over your body. You are 100% in control. You must yield to the spirit and through your faith allowing God to manifest spiritual gifts and power through you. If you deny the power by your unbelief, you will not see power because you have not yielded to the Holy Spirit and do not believe (James 1:6-8). Have you asked the Lord for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, to release the power of the Spirit in you?  If you have not experienced the power this does not mean that you do not have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. It simply means that you have squelched the heavenly gifts. By faith and through prayer the power is available to you.
